Naturally beautiful and durable, they will outlast years of love and wear. All leather and skins in our range are sourced from the food industry where they are by-products. Since IKEA doesn't accept any form of cruelty to animals, we have traceability systems to verify that our requirements on animal welfare are being met.
- The hide patterns vary in shades of light, medium and dark brown. There may also be smaller spots in white, black or beige.
- All leather and skins you find in the IKEA range are sourced as by-products from the food industry. This means the whole animal is used instead of parts being discarded.
- Skins and hides must be treated in order to become beautiful interior products. In this process, we don't allow any chemicals or heavy metals that are harmful to people and the environment.
- The hides naturally vary in size and are normally between 180-200 cm in width and 200-220 cm in length.
